Nelson is a graduate of Villanova University and the University of Miami. He has traveled internationally with the United States Soccer Federation for various age groups, including the National Men’s Team. He also served as Director of Sports Medicine for Delaware’s Olympic Development Program, providing event coverage, injury management and off-season conditioning, both at home and abroad. Nelson continues to treat athletes at all levels, from professionals to debutants, and is often called upon to help get a key player back to optimal functioning level for his or her sport. He is also on the teaching staff at Kinetacore and developed the Craniomandibular Disorders course. He is a lead instructor for Functional Dry Needling 2 and Craniomandibular Dysfunction courses, and an assistant instructor for the Functional Dry Needling 1 course.
Nelson owns the Reston location of Bodies In Motion Physical Therapy jointly with Michael Mastrostefano. He practices a manual approach to physical therapy, emphasizing restoration of proper joint motion. Nelson also uses dry needling to help normalize soft tissue mobility to facilitate the path to recovery.
