Sam Kang

Sam graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A in Biology in 2001. He then received his Masters of Physical Therapy Degree (2003) and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University (2005). Sam became the Clinic Director at the Fairfax office of Bodies in Motion in March of 2013.

Prior to joining the team at Bodies in Motion, Sam worked for four years at the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington, D.C. While there, he treated a wide variety of conditions, including orthopedic, neurological, amputee and geriatric patient populations in an outpatient and aquatic setting. From this experience, he developed a practice philosophy which emphasizes the importance of incorporating manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercise to restore proper body mechanics to meet functional goals.

Sam is a strong believer in continuing education and is working towards a certification in manual therapy. He has an advanced certification in dry needling, and helped develop a course for teaching therapists the use of dry needling in the treatment of TMJ disorders.

Sam works extensively with young athletes to get them back to their sports as quickly and safely as possible. He also enjoys working with youth outside of the medical environment and is active as a youth leader in the community.
