View Important Information about Direct Access to Physical Therapy

In Virginia, patients can be seen by a physical therapist for up to 30 consecutive days without a prescription from their physician.  At the end of 30 days, a prescription from a physician is required if the patient needs to continue their physical therapy treatment.

If you suspect that you have an injury that would benefit from physical therapy, our physical therapists can perform an evaluation and if appropriate, begin care immediately.  If the physical therapist feels that your condition is outside of their scope of practice, they will refer you to the appropriate healthcare professional.

Not all insurance providers will pay for services without a prescription from your physician. Our administrative staff will verify with your insurance provider if your policy allows for direct access to a physical therapist.  Please contact our office for additional information about Direct Access to physical therapy.

Insurance We Accept

Bodies in Motion Physical Therapy and our Physical Therapists are participating providers with most major insurance companies:
  • Medicare
  • CareFirst
  • Anthem PPO
  • Blue Cross/Blue Shield
  • Aetna
  • Cigna
  • Tricare

Please call any of our locations to confirm if we are in or out of network with your insurance provider. If we are not in network, but you have out of network benefits, we are still able to submit claims to your insurance.

We offer a Self Pay rate for patients who do not have health insurance, do not have out of network benefits, or for patients whose physical therapy benefits have run out for the policy year. Please discuss our Self Pay Policy with our administrative team prior to scheduling your appointment.

Please be advised – Your health insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance company. Bodies in Motion Physical Therapy will make every effort to verify your insurance benefits prior to your initial appointment, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the information we receive from your insurance provider. You are ultimately responsible for any charges not covered by your plan.
