Meet Nadia Wahid
Nadia joined the Bodies in Motion Physical Therapy team in Fairfax in August of 2017. She began her professional education at Miami University and graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training. As a certified athletic trainer, she worked for three years in the outpatient clinical setting treating post-surgical patients, athletes, and general population. She then decided to return to graduate school and pursue a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Central Michigan University in 2013. Her clinical experience throughout graduate school was in a mixture of inpatient and outpatient settings with a wide variety of orthopedic and neurological patients. Nadia has developed a passion for manual therapy and women’s health, and plans to specialize in these areas with continuing education over the next few years.
Nadia’s treatment philosophy is based on a holistic and functional approach, and she believes this to be foundational to success in physical therapy. She is a life-long learner, and believes that her patients should be as well. Building a strong foundation of knowledge and understanding with patients can equip them to be advocates for their own physical conditions. She has a passion for nutrition, and is a strong believer that making healthy dietary choices is as important as physical exercise on the road to recovery. She is a professional member of the American and Virginia Physical Therapy Associations, and the Section on Women’s Health.
Nadia is originally from Michigan, and enjoys outdoor activities, camping, cooking, reading and travelling in her free time.
