Meet Maral Javadifar
Maral graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from New York Medical College in 2015. Previously, she graduated magna cum laude from Pace University with her Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology. She interned at Ironman Sports Medicine Institute in Houston, Texas, specializing in sports rehabilitation. She also interned at the Functional Movement Headquarters in Chatham, VA under the supervision of renowned therapists Don Reagan, PT DPT CSCS and Gray Cook, MSPT OCS CSCS RKC.
While working toward her Doctorate, Maral received her certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). She is also certified in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and Functional Movement System (FMS). She is currently working toward her manual therapy certification through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMPT).
Maral became interested in physical therapy following an ACL tear in high school. Her successful physical therapy rehabilitation allowed her to continue an active, sports oriented lifestyle, and sparked an interest in physical therapy as a career. She received a college basketball scholarship from Pace University, where her team made it to the NCAA tournament three out of four years, with one appearance at the Sweet 16. In her spare time, Maral enjoys working out, playing basketball, hiking, listening to music, and taking trips back to Queens, NY where she was born and raised.
