Meet Dallas Simons
PT SCS ATC
Dallas received his BS in Health and Physical Education from Pennsylvania State University a post-graduate certificate in Physical Therapy from the University of Pennsylvania. He began his career at the Washington Hospital Center working with orthopedists and post surgical patients, before joining the sports medicine department at National Hospital for Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. He opened his own practice in Vienna, Virginia, and with his partners added offices in Herndon and Sterling. The practice was sold to Physiotherapy Associates, and Dallas served as Clinic Director and staff physical therapist before joining Bodies in Motion in December 2010.
Board certified through the American Physical Therapy Association as a Sports Physical Therapist, Dallas is also certified through NATA BOC as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC). He has pursued both fields, simultaneously working as a physical therapist in the clinic, and as an ATC with Fairfax County Public Schools, serving Herndon High School for 24 years. He chairs the Northern Virginia Sports Medicine Association Scholarship Committee, which awards an annual scholarship to a Northern Virginia student majoring in Athletic Training.
Dallas has focused his career on shoulder, knee and ankle rehabilitation. His treatment program is based on manual therapy techniques, followed by an individualized exercise program. He believes that by improving his patients’ range of motion and decreasing their discomfort, they will be able to exercise – the key to long term recovery.
Throughout his distinguished career Dallas has had many unique opportunities, such as participating in five Olympic Winter Games as the PT/ATC for the US Virgin Islands delegation, covering the World Figure Skating Championship, and even providing care for the troupe from Cirque de Soleil. While helping athletes from all levels of competition, he strives to provide amateur athletes of all ages the same quality of care that elite athletes enjoy.
Dallas is a member of APTA, APTA’s Sports Section, APTA’s Orthopedic Section and the NATA, and is licensed in VA, DC, and MD. He and his wife, Nancy, live in Reston, and are the parents of two daughters.
