Meet Anna Fortin
DPT COMT CKTP
Anna received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Marymount University in 2009. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Teaching English and a degree in Human Resources.
Anna is a certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP), specializing in general outpatient orthopedics. She believes in a manual therapy approach to treating patients combined with exercises to support manual treatment techniques provided during physical therapy sessions. She only uses evidence-based approaches in treating her patients, which is why she treats the patient “as a whole”: assessing posture, body dynamics and movement patterns. Anna treats a wide variety of patient impairments but particularly enjoys working with shoulder/neck dysfunction.
Anna has recently passed a competency exam for manual therapy using the respected Maitland approach to become a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT). The dedication and self study needed to achieve this goal is formidable.
In her free time Anna enjoys speed walking, hiking, and kayaking. Anna is a proud mother of a classical ballet dancer and an international black belt holder in Tae Kwan Do.
